Here you see The Healthy Schools and Youth Commission being sworn in today, May 29th. This body was created by Councilmember Cheh’s Healthy Schools Act of 2012 and is charged with improving the health of the children in the District of Columbia. . 

Councilmember Cheh with students at Maury Elementary School in Ward 6 at DC Farm to School Network’s annual Strawberries and Salad Greens Day kick off event. The Councilmember wrote the Healthy Schools Act of 2010, a national model for, among other things, bringing more fresh produce into school meals.
